Hey there everyone. The little family is doing well and resting at home! It has been a wild 4 days. For the time being, Matthew will be doing all the posting for the family and he'll do it on Marin's blog. It can be found at
http://marin.mrorex.com. This used to be the http://baby.mrorex.com blog but now that he has a name, it has been changed. :) I hope you have fun keeping up with our new crazy life! Talk to you soon. Love, MaLeah

You all can thank Matthew for my newly jazzed up blog look! I'm so excited about the new design and wanted to thank him for fixing it for me! I think it fits really well, don't you? The only regret he says he has is that he didn't use the template for himself and let me have it instead. :) Now he says his own blog is boring, so he's looking for a fresh idea for it as well. Thanks Matthew! I love you!

O.k., I know a lot of you come across my website by typing in things about Anoop in Google. I wrote a post a long while back when there was a chance that Anoop wouldn't be on the show. I don't remember the exact circumstances but I was outraged because I really liked the guy. I'm glad I wrote the post, because it has gotten my blog a lot of traffic. I like visitors! :) Since I wrote that post, I've stopped watching American Idol (shocker I know), but we just couldn't get into it this year. I only watched 1 or 2 of the live shows and that was it. I didn't even know that Anoop got voted off (for real this time) until I saw it online today. So, I just wanted to let you know that even though you may have stumbled upon this blog by accident looking for Anoop info. you don't have to leave! Stay with us and read up on our crazy life as we become first time parents any day now. To all the Anoop fans, I offer my condolences. And, if your favorite is still in the competition, I say good luck to you and your guy or gal!

We are 1 week and 1 day past our due date but Baby Rorex hasn't gotten the memo that it is time to come out yet. So, back to the doctor we went. Things are still looking just fine with baby. His amniotic fluid levels are good and he's even put on some weight. He is around 7 lbs. 5 oz. by their guess. Other than that, nothing new to report. You can check out his ultrasound photos from today at
http://baby.mrorex.com.

Hello, I finally have some new news to report. No, the baby isn't here yet, but we did get to see him again via ultrasound! Since I am past my due date, I had to go in for an ultrasound to check my amniotic fluid levels to make sure the little guy still had enough. We're happy to report that he does indeed have plenty of fluid and everything checked out perfectly. He's even gained some weight, coming in right under 7 lbs. according to their estimation. So, since everything still looks good and I'm only a few days late, we're going to just wait and see what happens. If nothing happens between now and then, I go back on Tuesday for another ultra sound and check up at the doctor's office. If you'd like to see the ultrasound photos and video from today, they are on the baby's blog page at
http://baby.mrorex.com.

Hello, today is April 13th. It is supposed to be "D-Day". I'm officially due today and nope, not one thing has happened today. No baby to report. We're just sitting here trying to figure out when he's going to show up. I'm really, really hoping he comes sometime between now and Thursday. Thursday is my next doctor's appointment (if he doesn't come before then) and I really want him to come out on his own instead of having to even have the discussion about what to do next. So everyone keep your fingers crossed for a speedy arrival so we can finally see our boy!
Here I am in all my 40 weeks pregnant glory!

Notice Lexi, all snug and covered up in the corner. She thinks it is cold in our house. Apparently 72 degrees is barely hovering above freezing in her book.

Gee, I look like I'm about to blow up any minute, huh?

Well, I just got back from the doctor and the good news is I've lost 2 pounds. :) The not really bad news, but come-on-lets-get-on-with-it-news is that I'm still not in labor. ha.ha. If I haven't had the baby before then, I go back on 4-16 for another ultra sound and check-up and then we'll discuss what the next step is (meaning a possible induction, I guess). Just thought I'd drop by and tell you all nope, we don't have a baby yet. Happy Easter if I don't talk to you before Sunday.

Matthew did such a great job posting on our baby monitor on the baby's blog that I don't feel a repeat on my blog is necessary. If you'd like to see the monitor we got, go to
http://baby.mrorex.com. Also, he has a post on there about our car seat install at our local police department. Feel free to browse around the baby's blog. I'm sure there will be a lot more interesting stuff on there soon! 5 Days till Due Date!

Wow, if that doesn't scare the heck out of a first time mom, nothing will...realizing you only have 6 more days left until your due date! I'm soooo ready and yet not at all ready, at the same time. I know that most likely makes no sense to you (unless you've had a baby before) and then you know EXACTLY what I mean! It is a very odd feeling to know that (literally) any minute you could be heading to the hospital and having a child. Just very weird....
Anyway....the question that everyone keeps asking is, "How are you feeling?" Really, not that bad. I'm very, very tired but other than that, I feel alright. I could sleep round the clock, just like I did during the first trimester, but other than that I can't complain.
It is kind of weird because we have pretty much everything ready. The only thing we are lacking that is a "must have" before the baby arrives is his baby monitor. It has shipped and will be here tomorrow. So, I think we'll be fine there. :) This weekend and the past couple days have seemed so strange because Matthew and I keep asking ourselves is there anything we need/want to do before its time to go to the hospital. And, honestly, I can't think of anything. Baby's bag is packed to go to the hospital and I have a list of everything that I want to pack last minute for myself. I think we're as prepared as we can be.
We saw two movies this past weekend. 1) the new Fast and Furious one, which was a solid 4 out of 5 stars and 2) Adventureland--I was disappointed with that one. I'd say it was maybe a very weak 3 out of 5. I could have waited to see it on DVD. It just wasn't half as funny as I thought it would be. I am a huge Superbad fan, so I was thinking that this one would be like that. Nope, not even close. We did see a preview of a movie coming out in June called The Hangover which looked absolutely hysterical. It is about a bachelor party in Vegas. I'm hoping it doesn't disappoint. As you can see, we're into juvenile, crass comedy. ha.ha. Actually, we're game for seeing any movie that comes out. We live less than 1/2 mile from a theater so we go pretty much every weekend and sometimes a couple times during the week.
Not much else to report. I don't go back to the doctor till Thursday. So, as long as I don't go into labor before then, I guess then will be the next time I have some baby news. Talk to you all later.

MaLeah
I've been doing a lot of bitching and complaining about my current condition (being pregnant) for the past few posts, so I thought I'd throw in some good to go along with it. I love to complain, but I also need to step back every once in a while and count up all the good things I've got going on. So, here are my warm fuzzies for the day.....
1) As much as I like to gripe, I've had a very easy pregnancy. I skipped that whole morning sickness bit. Yep, didn't throw up even once that was pregnancy related. I've been able to keep my weight at a reasonable limit and my doctor assures me that everything is just grand with the baby. And speaking of doctors, I just love, love mine so I'm lucky in that regard too. So, you can't beat that! I really didn't start feeling crappy until the last month or so. Lucky me!
2) We are fortunate that we are able to get tons of "stuff" for our son-to-be. Yeah, I know, babies don't really need a lot of "stuff" but it sure is fun to have lots of little extras to make your life easier. More clothes than he will ever wear, so you don't have to constantly do laundry. A nifty swing that plays lullabies so you can catch a break every now and again. Cool decorations in his room that he'll never even notice. You know, things like that.
3) I happen to be paired up with the world's best dad-to-be! Matthew has been incredible throughout this whole pregnancy. He hasn't missed a single prenatal appointment. He attended childbirth classes with me. He has done hours of research on baby related things such as car seats, baby monitors, cribs, etc. He hasn't once told me just to hush when I complain about my back, feet, or any other body part hurting. :) He always follows up with an, "I'm sorry your back hurts" and a sympathetic look. He tells me I'm beautiful and that he loves me many, many times a day. He has put together every piece of nursery furniture while I "supervised" from a comfy chair. He's made countless trips to Babies R Us and has actually been involved in picking things out as much as I have. He tells me just to rest and sleep in as much as I want to and doesn't even bat an eye if I'm in bed till nearly noon. :) He has even been in charge of the baby's personal website and the little dude isn't even here yet. :) I really couldn't ask any more of Matthew than he is already doing, because he is doing it all. I knew he was a great husband before we became pregnant so I don't know why it is such a surprise to me that he is such a super dad-to-be. He is my absolute best buddy and has stepped up to the plate big time. All I know is that I'm one lucky lady and that our son will be one lucky little boy to have him in our lives.
O.k., enough of the gooey crap. I've got to get back downstairs and do some more whining and complaining. Too bad Matthew is working. I guess I'll just have to gripe at the dog. Yeah....that always makes me feel better. :)

Eleven Days....That's how many I have left until my due date. I can't believe I am this close but at the same time it feels like it is taking for-ev-er. I had another doctor's appointment today and while nothing major is happening yet, the baby has made his way down really, really low. That's not a news flash to me though because I'm finding it harder and harder to transition from sitting to standing and especially getting out of bed and have for a few days now. We're in the homestretch guys, so keep checking back for updates. It could be any day now.
So, how do you like the new look of the blog? Matthew helped me work on it this evening and I'm quite pleased with it. Believe it or not, we're also DONE updating our family website's travel pages. You can find all the new photos, complete with captions at our homepage at
http://www.mrorex.com. That was an undertaking for sure. We've been updating it slowly but surely since before Christmas!
I've got a few new pictures to share. These were taken today and I'm sporting a brand new maternity t-shirt. I just loved this (bought it yesterday) even though I only have a couple weeks at most to wear it. Talk to you all later. Just wanted to check in and let you know that we're still waiting not-so-patiently for baby's arrival.
Picture #1: You know, for being 9 months pregnant, I don't hate this photo. Maybe its my new stork t-shirt or maybe because I had just meticulously blow dried my hair so it wouldn't look like crap? Who knows, but I'll take it.

Picture #2: Holy cow, I look huge! See how low my belly is now? It used to sit up a lot higher. He has officially "dropped".
