Reasons To Be Thankful

I've been doing a lot of bitching and complaining about my current condition (being pregnant) for the past few posts, so I thought I'd throw in some good to go along with it. I love to complain, but I also need to step back every once in a while and count up all the good things I've got going on. So, here are my warm fuzzies for the day.....

1) As much as I like to gripe, I've had a very easy pregnancy. I skipped that whole morning sickness bit. Yep, didn't throw up even once that was pregnancy related. I've been able to keep my weight at a reasonable limit and my doctor assures me that everything is just grand with the baby. And speaking of doctors, I just love, love mine so I'm lucky in that regard too. So, you can't beat that! I really didn't start feeling crappy until the last month or so. Lucky me!

2) We are fortunate that we are able to get tons of "stuff" for our son-to-be. Yeah, I know, babies don't really need a lot of "stuff" but it sure is fun to have lots of little extras to make your life easier. More clothes than he will ever wear, so you don't have to constantly do laundry. A nifty swing that plays lullabies so you can catch a break every now and again. Cool decorations in his room that he'll never even notice. You know, things like that.

3) I happen to be paired up with the world's best dad-to-be! Matthew has been incredible throughout this whole pregnancy. He hasn't missed a single prenatal appointment. He attended childbirth classes with me. He has done hours of research on baby related things such as car seats, baby monitors, cribs, etc. He hasn't once told me just to hush when I complain about my back, feet, or any other body part hurting. :) He always follows up with an, "I'm sorry your back hurts" and a sympathetic look. He tells me I'm beautiful and that he loves me many, many times a day. He has put together every piece of nursery furniture while I "supervised" from a comfy chair. He's made countless trips to Babies R Us and has actually been involved in picking things out as much as I have. He tells me just to rest and sleep in as much as I want to and doesn't even bat an eye if I'm in bed till nearly noon. :) He has even been in charge of the baby's personal website and the little dude isn't even here yet. :) I really couldn't ask any more of Matthew than he is already doing, because he is doing it all. I knew he was a great husband before we became pregnant so I don't know why it is such a surprise to me that he is such a super dad-to-be. He is my absolute best buddy and has stepped up to the plate big time. All I know is that I'm one lucky lady and that our son will be one lucky little boy to have him in our lives.

O.k., enough of the gooey crap. I've got to get back downstairs and do some more whining and complaining. Too bad Matthew is working. I guess I'll just have to gripe at the dog. Yeah....that always makes me feel better. :)
