I'm Still Here

Hey there guys! I'm officially the worst blogger in history now, with almost a month lag since my last post. I can't stand it when people don't keep their blogs up to date and here I am committing the same offense. Oh well, I'm back now and do plan on doing a better job of keeping you up to date on the goings on around here.

So, where have I been? Well, you name it and that's what we've been up to. Busy, busy, busy. Here are some highlights from the past month.

On Jan. 23rd, we celebrated Lexi's 6th year of being with our family. On Jan. 23rd 2003 Lazer Comet, the retired racing greyhound, was welcomed into our home as Lexi, the spoiled rotten house pet. She's currently sporting a nice, fluffy, blue dog bed courtesy of Matthew that she's barely gotten off of since he bought it. He says he's glad he "sprang for the nicer bed" because she loves it so much.

On Jan. 29th thru Feb. 2nd, we got tired of the cold weather here and headed to Hilton Head, SC. It was a very nice trip and I have tons of photos that I plan on sharing very soon. We spent our days walking the beach and reading on the balcony. It was a nice change of pace.

We've been to a few Predators games here and there and we're still having a blast supporting the home team. Going to Preds games is my favorite activity, other than going to the beach. :)

We graduated from our Childbirth Education class and have even pre-registered at the hospital. We have worked on the nursery. The crib is up, the changing table is up, and we've ordered lots of stuff online for decorating. We're going with a Predators theme (of course) and we did hang up some of his Preds stuff that he already had this weekend. It's coming together nicely and I plan on adding photos of the finished nursery as soon as it is done.

I've been back to the doctor a few times and things are progressing nicely. I am 32 weeks along today, only 8 more weeks to go! I can't believe I am already 8 months pregnant. That's insane! April 13th looms closer and closer. I can say that I am a nervous wreck, but ready to get on with it at the same time. Putting his nursery together has made it seem real as is the fact that invitations were sent by our hostesses (great friends Tara & Carrie) for our baby shower! The time is flying by!

Matthew took a business trip to Cleveland, OH for one overnight last week and I stayed home alone. I hate staying home alone, but Lexi was pretty good company. I did a bit of shopping, watched American Idol, and pigged out on snacks. I usually travel with him (as most of you all already know) but I just didn't feel like being out in the cold this late in the pregnancy.

We spent Valentine's Day at the Predators game and it was a lot of fun! I know most ladies wouldn't find the prospect of going to a hockey game on V-Day as romantic, but I'd rather go there than anywhere else I could think of! Matthew of course loved it too! It was made even better by the fact that we beat the highest ranked team in the NHL, the Boston Bruins, in a shoot out.

I can't forget that we finally beat the St. Louis Blues so I can finally stop paying homage to their team on my blog. Sorry Kim. :)

We have a lot of things coming up in the next few days. Our online purchases for the baby room should arrive. We're going to another Preds game tonight. We have an intial meeting with our baby's pediatrician on Wed. and I go back to the doctor for a check-up on Thurs. I'd also like to wish my cousin Cody a Happy 20th birthday on Feb. 20th!

I guess that about wraps up what has been going on around here. I'll leave you with a couple pics from our Hilton Head trip to tide you over until I can post the rest. Have a great day!

The beautiful beach perfect for long walks.
My favorite pic of Matthew and I from the trip.
