Unsolicitated Belly Touching

Hello, I have a question for all you mommas out there. Did it just drive you INSANE when someone touched your belly when you were pregnant? I absolutely despise it. I know lots of people who don't want strangers or acquaintances to touch them, but I HATE everyone doing it except for Matthew. I'm not talking about strangers or acquaintances doing it. I'm talking did you/do you HATE it when ANYONE did it (even family and close friends)?
So far, only 2 people have touched me. They started touching, THEN asked if it was o.k. They just go in for the kill before you know what is happening and I just stand there speechless, hating every minute of it. So, what in the world do you say?! It is sort of too late to stop it once you are already doing it. Now, I guess I'm going to have to be more "on guard" to ward off unsolicited touching before it happens. It drives me nuts. I am really, really dreading my baby shower now. ha.ha.
I am usually a very huggy gal. I always hug each and every family member that I see and always have done so. But, I just can't handle the belly touching (from anyone but Matthew). I wonder if it is like a primal reaction? Like a mother lion protecting her cub? I know I don't need to "protect" my baby from family and close friends, but I really just don't like it. It feels like such an invasion of space and I can seriously feel my blood pressure rising and that seems irrational.
Anyone else hate the belly touching? And what do you do if someone "asks" to touch you? You know you want to say no (even to family) but it will hurt their feelings. Should you just keep quiet and grit your teeth and hope they are finished feeling you up soon? ha.ha. Or should you say, no, I'd rather you not? I'm thinking that I have 3 more months to go and I'm only going to get bigger and a more noticeable belly as the days go by. So, I guess I'm going to have to just speak up and say something. I'll let you know of the fall out (if there is any). So far, no strangers have had the gall to touch me. If they do, you'll be able to hear the fall out from wherever you are, so no worries. :)
